Leaving Certificate French

About This Course

During the morning session (2 hours), students will prepare their Leaving Certificate oral conversation under the guidance of Sylvie - an experienced French Teacher and Oral Examiner. She will provide students with advice and support in how to maximise their grade in this part of the exam. The course will include notes on key topics such as: 1. Le document (if a student has chosen to prepare this component of the exam). 2. Une journée typique et la vie scolaire (A typical day and school life). 3. Le week end et les loisirs (The weekend and hobbies). 4. L'avenir et les réseaux sociaux (The future and social media). 5. Les vacances scolaires et les différences entre la France et l'Irlande (School Holidays and the differences between France and Ireland). Students will also cover: - Key vocabulary and high-scoring phrases for each topic, including time-buying expressions and ways to ask the examiner to repeat a question. - Advanced grammar structures to help students elevate their responses. - Guided exercises to help students develop structured, detailed answers. - Space for students to personalise their responses and refine their “hook” – an engaging, unique angle to make their answers stand out. During the afternoon session (2 hours including a 15 minute private interview), students will carry out a practice exam with Sylvie (1-to-1) and receive feedback on their progress along with any finishing touches that should be made to their preparation. Students will then work on this feedback in the remainder of the course. Due to the intimate and personalised nature of this course - places are strictly limited to 8 students.
